We did it! We FINALLY got some men together on the 2nd of December. Thirteen of us met and spent some time talking about our vision for our men's "group". Here is the initial vision.......

To gather as men and:

• seek to understand what God expects of His men
• draw from God and each other, wisdom and courage to face life's challenges
• mature as Godly men and become secure in our identity in Him
• learn how to better represent Christ in the world
• develop lasting friendships and challenge one another to accountability and personal growth

We had a great discussion about wisdom. We talked about how to be filled with the spirit of wisdom and discussed practical things that wise men do. Here are some nuggets:

• The enemy of wisdom is haste
• If you want to make wise decisions, seek the advice of wise men. There is safety in abundance of counsel
• Read Proverbs daily
• Pray and specifically ask God to give you wisdom regarding matters

We will be meeting again soon and our next time together will be on a Tuesday evening. Our intent is to get together one Saturday and one Tuesday each month. We really hope that you will you will be able to join us. We don't give a flip about just having another meeting....we are after that "iron sharpen iron" thing. We all wanna be sharp, Right?
