Special Events
- Directions to Abundant Life Church. From Interstate 40, go North on Mt Juliet Road (Exit 226B coming from Nashville, and Exit 226 -turning right - coming from Knoxville), and continue until light number 5 and turn right. From Lebanon Pike, go south on Mt Juliet Road (Right beside Rite-Aid), continue to light number 5 and take a left. The church will be on your right immediately behind Celebration Lutheran.
- STARTING TIME FOR OUR SUNDAY GATHERING!! Please make a note that our starting time for the Sunday Gathering is 9:30 a.m.
- The Home Group meeting at the Hullett's is now meeting on Thursday nights.
- Beginning August 7th, Rob Shearer will be moderating a Prayer Room at ALC from 12:00 pm. til 12:30 p.m. each Thursday until the November elections. Come join us in corporate prayer for our nation, community, and church family.
- August 5th, The Maker's Diet Classes begin. Billy Paul Jones will be conducting this class on eating well and feeling good through proper diet. Classes will begin at 6:30 p.m. each Tuesday night for the next 8 weeks, concluding on September 23rd. For more information, call the church office.
- September 21st - Old Fashioned Picnic after the service to raise funds for the Harvest Carnival. Cost will be $10 per adult and $5 per child 12 and under.
- Abundant Life Church Men's Golf Tournament. October 19th at Cedar Crest Golf Course http://www.cedarcrestgolfclub.net/ The start time is 1:00 p.m. immediately following the morning service. If you are interested, call the church office at 754-7035 to sign up. Cost will be $50 per person and that includes lunch and prizes.
- October 26th - Harvest Carnival @ Charlie Daniels Park. Games, hayrides, music, chili cook-off and food.

 Larry and Anne Grainger
Larry Grainger is the Senior Pastor at Abundant Life Church. He is married to Anne and they have four sons, Jason, Adam, Nate, and Jonathan, ranging in age from 33 to 21. Originally from Panama City, FL, they have been residents of Middle Tennessee for 22 years, and during that time have been involved in a couple of churches.
In 1998 the Grainger family became a part of ALC, with Larry becoming the pastor in March of 2001. Larry and Anne have been involved in ministry since 1973, having been pastor, teacher, associate pastor and general support for other pastors.

 Mike and Pam Lonas
Mike Lonas serves on the Pastoral Team as well as the Worship Team. Mike and his wife Pam are both from Maryville, Tn and came to Mt. Juliet via Fayetteville, NC where they lived for three years.
They have two adult sons, Shane and John and a grandaughter, Bailey. The couple works for the Federal Aviation Administration in the Aviation Safety Division. Mike is also the Human Resource Advisor for the 134th Air Refueling Wing (Tennessee Air National Guard) in Knoxville. They began attending ALC in 1990 after being invited by a neighbor.

 Rob and Cyndy Shearer
Rob Shearer serves on the Pastoral Team at ALC. Rob and his wife, Cyndy, are longtime educators and are leaders in the home school movement.
They are accomplished authors as well as owners and operators of Greenleaf Press, a resource center for home-schooling parents. They have recently begun the Francis Schaeffer Study Center, a mid-week tutorial for home-schooled students.
They also have 11 children, two of whom are married. John, Micah, Jeremy, Paul, Rachel, Hannah, Jessie, Cori, Joy, Sarah, and Merry. They also have one grandchild, Philip.

 Jim and Lisa La Verde
Jim La Verde serves on the pastoral team as well as assistant worship leader under Don Poythress. He also works and travels with Sanctuary international ministry’s with Pastor Bob Beeman, leading worship and speaking at Christian music festivals all over the world. Jim is also one of the founding members and bassist for the group Barren Cross.
Jim grew up in Southern California and moved to Nashville in 1996. He also is the owner of All Pro Services. Lisa La Verde heads up the nursery ministry under Pati Carmichael. Lisa moved to Nashville in 1999 from Dallas Texas where she had a full time modeling career. Jim and Lisa have two sons Spencer and Hunter.

 Kevin and Karen Brummett
Kevin & Karen Brummett both grew up right here in Mt. Juliet. Having been close friends since jr. high, they graduated from Mt. Juliet High School and attended Middle Tennessee State University together. They were married in 1982 and have two home-schooled children, Katy and Christian, who are active in the ALC youth group.
The church's support of home-schooling families was what brought the Brummetts to ALC in 2000. Kevin is a veterinarian and he and Karen own and operate The ARK, a veterinary clinic just east of Mt. Juliet.

 Don Poythress
Don Poythress is an elder as well as the Worship Pastor of Abundant Life Church. Don is a noted songwriter, having songs recorded by Willie Nelson, Bonnie Raitt, Sir Cliff Richard and Tim McGraw, among many others.
He has also penned the Dove Award-winning Song "The Promise" as sung by The Martins. It was awarded top recorded song in the Southern Gospel Category. He also wrote the Dove Award nominated song "Lay It Down" by Jaci Velasquez and the London Philharmonic.

 Rebecca Pruett
Rebecca Pruett is the Administrator of Abundant Life Church. She was born in Florida and grew up in full time ministry with her parents, Evangelist Albert and Dolly Pruett.
Following her college graduation, Rebecca embarked on a career in the music industry which led her to the Nashville area. Rebecca began attending Abundant Life and joined the staff soon afterwards. She is also a writer, speaker, photographer, theatrical producer and teacher working with students in drama and writing.

 Pati Carmichael
Pati serves ALC as our Children's Coordinator. Pati has four daughters: Crystal, Cori, Rachel, and Rebekah; 3 grandaughters: Brianna, Alyssa and Courtney and a grandson, Liam.
Pati began attending ALC in 1991 after relocating to Nashville with Baby Superstores. One of her employees, Patti White, invited Pati and her family to visit the church. Pati has served the church in many capacities over the years and joined the staff in 2003.

Young Adult and Mission Coordinators
Adam and Erin Grainger recently rejoined the staff of Abundant Life after a two year mission term with Adventures in Missions. Formerly the couple led Youth on Fire.
